Getting Started Guide

  • Click the "Start Free Trial" button on our homepage. You'll need an email address and a password. We also recommend downloading the app on your phone to sync your data seamlessly. Once registered, you can invite your partner or family members to join your household.

  • Go to Settings > Household > Manage Members. You can send an invite link via email or text message. Members can accept the invite from the Patchly app or website. You can assign roles like "Admin" (full access) or "Viewer" (limited access).

  • A Budget Patch is a visual category for your spending, like "Groceries" or "Entertainment." To create one, go to the Dashboard, tap the "+" button, and select "Add Patch." You can set a monthly limit, assign it to a specific family member, and track your progress visually.

Billing & Subscriptions

  • Charges appear as "Patchly" or "Patchly LLC" on your statement. The exact date depends on your plan: Monthly plans are billed on the 1st of the month, while Yearly plans are billed annually. You can view your payment history in Settings > Billing.

  • Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from your Account Settings. If you upgrade, you'll get immediate access to premium features like unlimited family members and advanced analytics. If you downgrade, changes take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.

  • Go to Settings > Billing > Cancel Subscription. You will retain access until the end of your current paid period. We also offer a free Forever plan for basic tracking if you decide not to continue with a paid subscription.

Troubleshooting

  • First, check your internet connection. If that's fine, try disconnecting and reconnecting your account in Settings > Bank Connections. If the issue persists, ensure your bank supports open banking protocols. If you see a "timeout" error, try again later as your bank might be undergoing maintenance.

  • Check your phone's notification settings to ensure Patchly is allowed to send notifications. Also, verify that your "Spending Alerts" are enabled in the app's Notification Preferences. If you're on iOS, try force-closing the app and reopening it.

  • Try clearing the app's cache or reinstalling the latest version from the App Store or Google Play Store. If the issue continues, please contact our support team with your device model and OS version so we can investigate a potential bug.
